9:17 pm - Something I learned today...
|
|
Champagne goes straight to my head. This is not normally a problem, however, when at a 6 year old's birthday party and the said 6 year old's parents keep giving you champagne, there is a time to say stop...especially when you alcohol tolerance is like mine. Incidentally, I did only have one and a half glasses, but apprently champagne and I are not friends anymore...

ok, it's official, Hallowe'en sucks once you have kids. D got invited to a Hallowe'en party and now I have to make him a costume. Of course he chooses a costume that a) they don't stock in Australia and b) looks a lot easier to make than it actually is...grrr. Damn Harry Potter to hell! What do I get to make? A fucking dementor costume...at least I only have the robe to go. Of course, now I have run out of black thread. Sorry for the pointless rant.

8:03 pm - Contemplation
|
Does anyone have any ideas, info etc on cats? We are considering buying one, but before I do so I need to think of food costs, vaccination costs, worming etc. I was hoping that someone knows enough about these things so that I don't have to pay just to talk to a vet... Also, where is the best place to go to get a kitten that is healthy and well-taken care of? I do want to get a cat, but I think that it is something that I should consider seriously considering how long they live. And I can't take them everywhere like I can with Darius and I have no idea who I'd get to petsit for my trips to Sydney... oh well, I hope that it happens, I think it would be good for both of us, but I do need to think of the consequences.

I just saw on the news that a 67-year-old woman has had a baby, now, congratulations to her but at the same time I can't help but think that it is selfish to have a child when you are very unlikely to be alive to see it grow up. Maybe it's just me though...

well, for some reason I can't download Yahoo messenger onto this computer. It keeps coming up with an "unable to load dynamic link library"....not impressed :( this means until I sort this out, if anyone wants to message me they will have to use my MSN ID. Sorry

Ok, things seem to be looking up :) I have finished uni for the year and passed what I needed to (only just, but a pass is a pass). I have got a job for the holidays, it's only a couple of hours a week but it makes up for the extra costs of childcare now. My house is on it's way to actually being nice and clean again and although I am tired, much has been achieved. Anyway, Darius is doing well, growing up WAY too fast and I'm starting to get all nervous about him starting school next year.

6:20 pm - feeling better

well, after a rather nasty bout of gasrtoenteritis (ewww) I feel much better now. Darius is an amazing kid, he took care of me so well and gave me hugs and drinks etc. Now I have to catch up on necessary work...

Why is it that when I have deadlines and really NEED to do something that I always manage to find something / anything to distract me from the task at hand?? I am the mistress of procrastination :)

3:43 am - hmmm
|
Well, it's half past three in the morning and I'm still awake. I'd stayed up a little late as I had stuff to catch up on after the unexpected death and resurrection of this computer....and then, after a fairly hectic 24hours or so (last night, out late, up this morning early with Darius, then to a car boot sale and finally to a birthday party for one of D's friends), Darius has been sick for the last few hours....Neither of us want him to go to sleep again until we know there won't be a repeat performance. Therefore, I'm stuck waiting for him to feel well enough to sleep and then I may finally have a chance to sleep. To top it all off, tomorrow I have to go to the laundromat and do washing, clean up (at least to some degree) and prepare for my history exam on Monday. Then, on Monday, I have to go to work, organise the business' BAS and then go to my exam....when am I meant to sleep pary tell??? Oh yeah, and in between I have to try and be at least a semi decent mum.

10:50 pm - Handwriting...
|
I got this from Kiltar... Please tell me what you think of this, it's a result from a handwriting analysis site.
Taryn has a healthy imagination and displays a fair amount of trust. She lets new people into her circle of friends. She uses her imagination to understand new ideas, things, and people. Taryn has a temper. She uses this as a defense mechanism when she doesn't understand how to handle a situation. Temper is a hostile trait used to protect the ego. Temper can be a negative personality trait in the eyes of those around her.
Taryn is sarcastic. This is a defense mechanism designed to protect her ego when she feels hurt. She pokes people harder than she gets poked. These sarcastic remarks can be very funny. They can also be harsh, bitter, and caustic at the same time.
Taryn is a practical person whose goals are planned, practical, and down to earth. This is typical of people with normal healthy self-esteem. She needs to visualize the end of a project before she starts. she finds joy in anticipation and planning. Notice that I said she plans everything she is going to do, that doesn't necessarily mean things go as planned. Taryn basically feels good about herself. She has a positive self-esteem which contributes to her success. She feels she has the ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to. However, she sets her goals using practicality-- not too "out of reach." She has enough self-confidence to leave a bad situation, yet, she will not take great risks, as they relate to her goals. A good esteem is one key to a happy life. Although there is room for improvement in the confidence catagery, her self-perception is better than average.
Taryn is a cumulative and procedural thinker. She likes to have all the facts before making a decision. She thinks or creates much like a brick mason, stacking fact upon fact. Her thought pattern or the conclusion will not be complete until the last fact is in place. Like that brick wall, Taryn learns faster through visual demonstration than through quick verbal instructions. Once she has learned new material, and understood it, she won't forget. Taryn is a methodical thinker, therefore she is able to build things and come up with new ideas. In an argument, she often loses to rapid thinking people because she is thinking thirty minutes later about what she should have said. These people often are very booksmart, but can be out-gunned in a rapid fire verbal debate. She may learn new ideas at a slower pace than other "less detailed" people, but once she gets it, she can handle repetition. Some people hate jobs with too much repetition, she can handle it better than most. Taryn is secretive. She has secrets which she does not wish to share with others. She intentionally conceals things about herself. She has a private side that she intends to keep that way, especially concerning certain events in her past. Taryn is moderately outgoing. Her emotions are stirred by sympathy and heart rendering stories. In fact, she can be kind, friendly, affectionate and considerate of others. She has the ability to put herself into the other person's shoes. Taryn will be somewhat moody, with lows and highs. Sometimes she will be happy, the next day she might be sad. She has the unique ability to get along equally well with what psychology calls introverts and extroverts. This is because she is in between. Psychology calls Taryn an ambivert. She understands the needs of both types. Although they get along, she will not tolerate anyone that is too "far out." She doesn't sway too far one way or the other. When convincing her to buy a product or an idea, a heart rendering story could mean a great deal to her. She puts herself in the same situation as the person in the story, yet she will not buy anything that seems overly impractical or illogical. Taryn is an expressive person. She outwardly shows her emotions. She may even show traces of tears when hearing a sad story. Taryn is a "middle-of-the-roader," politically as well as logically. She weighs both sides of an issue, sits on the fence, and then will decide when she finally has to. She basically doesn't relate to any far out ideas and usually won't go to the extreme on any issue.
People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Taryn doesn't write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.
